About Us
Beverley Smith has been a professional
artist since graduating from Sheridan College (The School of Design)
and weaving college in Stockholm Sweden in the early 70's. She
moved from Toronto to the Beaver Valley in 1980. She has become well
known locally not only for her textile art, but also for her murals,
maps and whimsical illustrations of the area.
"It was trips to
Africa that inspired me to work with beads and now I have found
that beading is the perfect marriage of my passion for colour, texture,
painting and design. I love the infinite variety of beads, their
combinations, and techniques, as well as the continuous stream of
new ideas. I cannot think of anything I'd rather do with my imagination,
my hands and my time... except, that is to share all of this through
Holy Crow Beads"
Holy Crow Beads has been
selected by Interweave Press ( www.interweave.com) for their
book Beader's Stash: Designs From
America's Favourite Bead Shops". Only
39 shops were chosen for this publication and Holy Crow Beads is proud
to be included.
